= Gentry Grooming =

As i mentioned in my latest Sugar & Spice Sundays i went to the Gentry Grooming Event last Thursday. I was super excited to meet the gorgeous Steph for the first time so when i got off the train & headed over to where we arranged to meet i had butterflies in my tummy thinking what if she didnt like me, what if she thought i was weird and then i got it in my head OMG what if she doesnt turn up, do i have to go to the event on my own? Do i just get the train back home and forget all about it, but luckily she was stood their waiting for me ... pheewww!! We headed over to the Slug & lettuce first which is a few doors down from the living room to have a few cheeky cocktails and a good natter!

So the invite said the event was form 7.30 till 10.00 so me & steph headed over at just past 7.30 to be told we were the first bloggers there, we were handed a glass of wine as we entered and we went over to sit at one of the booth's, a magician was doing the rounds & we felt mean when he asked if it was ok to join us ... luckily after a few minutes we spotted Jo walk in along with Sinead, Paula, Carla & Caroline walk in, they came & sat with us & the magician left, now i didnt know who Caroline was as i didnt follow her blog or twitter & i felt quite rude but she didnt know me so it was all fine lol!! It was my first time meeting these 5 lovely ladies, and they were so lovely, unfortunalty the camera in my battery died but i did manage to take a few! After sitting down the lovely Halima came over with her friend, she chit chatted away for abit, took lots of photo's with her flash camera lol!!

So as we all got to know each other a bit we spotted a few of the Hollyoakes crew ... as i dont really watch it i noticed Ashley Taylor (darren) as he's been it a while and he's GORGEOUS!! Another person i met at the event was the Gemma from Gemsmaquillage, she was so nice, friendly and even when she left give us all a hug & said it was lovely to meet everyone!! Such a lovely person, would love to meet her again!!

This was the first event I've been too, and i say it was more of a Party/Product promotion but i throughly enjoyed myself, i just hope i get invited to other events!!!

So here's a few pictures of the night:

As we were leaving we were handed a goodie bag :

The boy loves the styling cream & keeps asking me where can he buy other bits!!

Have you ever been invited to any events?? Met any other bloggers??

Sugar & Spice Sundays 024 %

So im sorry this is a day late but i just couldnt be bothered yesterday when i got home from my sisters BBQ! I hope you've all had a fab easter bank holiday weekend, ive worked all of it apart from Sunday.

So from Monday to Thursday was just the usual boring mundane work but on Thursday night i hopped onto the train to meet the gorgeous Steph for the first time .. i was super nervous thinking what if she doesnt like me, what if there's awkward silences but no it wasnt like that at all, we chit chatted for a good hour before we got to the event, we headed to The Slug & Lettuce for cocktails before hand! Im gonna do a proper post of of event but i didnt take many pictures as my camera died so i may have to sneakily borrow Sineads or Stephs lol!!

Friday seen me working again but i didnt mind, it triple pay so cant really grumble! Friday night i went to the pub with the boy & his brother, didnt stay out late as i knew i had to be up bright and early again for work on Saturday, which went really fast, and so i didnt waste the sunshine i made sure that on my lunch hour i grabbed my sandwich and headed over to Urbis to sit on the grass and soak up the rays!!

Saturday night me & the boy headed over to Chiquito's stuffed my face with yummy cheesy nacho's & BBQ chicken fajita's and went home with a very full tummy & then headed off to bed to watch ANOTHER episode of House ... I swear im seriously addicted!!

Sunday i spent the day at my sisters soaking up the sunshine in the garden & eating lots of yummy BBQ food :) delicious!! I was really good too & only had 2/3 alcoholic bervages due to being in work on Monday but oh well!

Ive been blogging now around 15 months and the only person who knew was the boy & i dont know why i didnt tell any of my friends i was just nervous i think, but this week has seen me tell one of my bestie's about my blog, i think its because she was asking how i got invited to the Gentry event & so i sent her the link to my blog & i was SOOO nervous and she was so supportive ... i dont have to hide it anymore ... i can openly take random pictures lol!! Have you kept your blog a secret or do you tell everyone??

Sunshine through my window ...

So a week or so ago i went into mac to get a new MSF & came out with a few other goodies :) I havent treated myself to new mac make-up in a while so thought it was only fair, i didnt get loads just 4 items ...
So as you can see i picked up my msf in medium, i use this all over my face after ive put my foundation on, i also use it through out the day just incase my face get's a little oily.

I also picked up two new lipsticks ...
So i LOVE costa chic ... its my new favourite daytime lipstick, its just enough colour & i think its a really springy colour :) Now Lickable ive not heard or seen much off on the blogging scene, its pretty much the same colour as Girl About Town (my go to night time lipstick) but with a very slight glitter running through it & is a cremesheen so the colour payoff isnt as good as Girl About Town which is an amplified creme. As you can see Costa Chic has taken a good battering as its going down quite quickly!!

I also picked up another shadow to put in my palette ...
I picked Mulch ... now it wasnt originally on my list of shadow's i wanted for my first palette but as soon as i seen it i fell in love, its a perfect brown with just enough shimmer ... at the moment im loving shimmery shadows so this is getting used daily on my crease along with All That Glitters!!

Have you purchased any cheeky goodies from mac lately?? Anything i need to have in my life ?? Also is there any good collections coming up i should keep my eye out for ??

Pure & Simple .... #

So i decided i needed a new skin care routine ... i was after a new day/night cream but didn't want to spend hideous amounts so off to Superdrug i pranced, i quickly realised they had 3 for 2 on all skin care. I decided on trying the new Simple range :
Simples philosophy :
- never use harsh chemicals, colours or perfumes
- settle for only the purest possible ingredients
- trust the natural goodness in all our products on even the most sensitive skin
- natural beauty comes from goodness

So the first product i apply in the mornings is the revitalising eye roll on, it contains cucumber extract and vitamin goodness to reduce puffiness and wake up and revitalise tired eyes. With it being a roller ball it instantly cools your eyes and wakes you up.

The second product i use is the Vital Vitamin day cream, its really light on the skin, it soaks in really quickly so you dont have to wait ages before you can start applying your foundation/powder etc. I feel its really moisturising and leaves my skin soft and smooth for the full day.

After taking all my make-up off and getting ready for bed i use the Vital Vitamin night cream, its alot thicker than the day cream and it feels quite greasy & oily on your skin, with it being alot thicker it doesn't soak in straight away but for a night cream that doesn't matter as it will be working its magic all night!!
The Vital Vitamin range has 3 vital vitamins :
Pro-vitamin b5 actively restores, softens and smooths
Vitamin E moisturises to improve skin condition
Vitamin F renews and regenerates

It has 3 skin loving nutrients :
Glycerin hydrates and nourishes
Allantoin softens and protects
Bisabolol soothes and calms

And finally like all Simple products no perfume, no colour, no unnecessary harsh chemicals so its wont upset your skin.  Ive been using this range for about 2/3 weeks and im really impressed, it worked out about £12 for all of it as it was on 2 for 3 but even without the offer its a really affordable range at about £6 per item which i think is really good!
Whats your favourite day/night cream?

Sugar & Spice Sundays 023 %

So this week I turned 23, i had a fantastic birthday, i got breakfast in bed, the weather was lovely, me & the boy swanned around Manchester center, went shopping, i bought my Birthday present with the money everyone gave me, i'll do a post on that early on next week :)

Apart from my birthday i havent done much this week, the weather has been fantastic today though. Ive spent today lazing around in the park with the boy, his brother & one of my bestie's. We lazed on the grass, eating ice creams, making daisy chains, feeding the duckies, playing bat & ball, blowing bubbles & making shapes out of the clouds! Its been such a fantastic afternoon, i cant wait to do it again.

In the photo above i actually had a real flower in my hair, i really like it, im thinking getting some flower clips from New Look or claire's, but im not sure if there going to be abit childish? Any idea's? Also i used Picnik.com to edit my photo, well my edit i mean make black & white & bring the colour out on the flower, no air brushing & all that jazz but that is available on Picnik!

This week has been me & the boy becoming very obsessed with the series House ... we have literally watched all of season one & yesterday we started on season 2, we sit and watch 3/4 episodes at a time. I think im secretly developing a little crush on Dr House ... i think its his cockyness & attitude!!

Alton Towers ... weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee =

So on 29th March me, the boy, my bestie & the boy's brother hoped over to Leek to spend the day at Alton Towers :) Alton Towers is probably the 2nd theme park close to us apart from Blackpool Pleasure beach which unfortuantly wasnt open during the week when we wanted to go, so Alton Towers it was :)
Picture 1 & 2 : Half 8 in the morning ... all ready & waiting to go ... super excited.

Picture 3 & 4 : Sonic was walking around to promote the newish ride Sonic Pinball ... it was a sure photo opportunity hee hee

Picture 5 & 6 & 7: So on the monorail heading over to the X sector ... but got abit confussed so decided to do what Joey did on friends and get in the map hahah ... it sure helped, also decided to have a photo taken whilst up their ... the boys decided to be MEGA brave & not hold on on the monorail hahahah!

Picture 8 & 9 & 10 : Playing in the Charlie & the Chocolate Factory area (because we had been on most of the rides) I decided to sit on a toad stool whilst Darren (the boyfs brother decided to go head first down some huge tube/pipe thing, hence his feet sticking out lol)

Picture 11 & 12 : Again more random pictures just playing around in the shops & the Pirate bay part!!

We got there at 11 and by half 2 we had done all the major rides, Nemesis, Air, Ripsaw, Blade, Sonic Pinball, Rita, 13, Oblivion, Submission. It was so quiet, we didn't have to cue for anything, we literally just walked straight onto each ride, apart from Rita which we had to wait for 15mins as it broke down as we were due to get on it so we decided to wait it out.

In picture 5 you can kind of see my outfit which i wore, it was cream chinos, a cream knitted loose cardigan with tassels & a brown scarf, nothing special but i really liked it, i'll do a proper OOTD soon showing the outfit properly!!

The weather was warm, didnt rain, it wasnt busy & we had a fantastic day!! The next theme park on our list is now Thorpe Park but thats all the way down south ... miles away from us up here!!

Sorry this is a really long post& full of pictures but hope you've enjoyed reading it!!

Put your hands in the air =

So yesterday was my birthday & me and the boy headed into town so i can do abit of shopping (and buy my birthday present), it was warm today, not as nice as Sunday but warm enough for this outfit, i did end up buying a long sleeved plain white top from Newlook as my arms was abit nippy.  I love Hareem pants, i know there not everyone's cup of T but there certainly mine, there really comfy, flatter all shapes and really easy to wear.

My new purchase is this waistcoat from newlook, i borrowed my besties waistcoat a week ago and decided i needed to get my own ... i wanted a really light one that would look prety over whites/creams/beiges/khaki colours & i think this one is gorgeous, according to the boy its just a doily with arm holes but what does he know hee hee!!

4th picture down i was dancing around so ignore my arms & face but i liked the way the tassels were moving and it showed that the waist coat really moves! Also i couldnt decide what colour to paint my nails so i decided 5 different Barry M polishes would do the trick just nicely ... i'll do a NOTD on it in the week to show off my summery nails!

Sugar & Spice Sundays 022 %

I totally LOVE this warm weather, also today i had a screwball icecream - hence the photo, it reminded me of being 8 again & getting them from the icecream van & hunting for the bubble gum at the bottom!!

So back to work after a week off & surprisingly had a really good week. I baked cupcakes using Milly's recipe and did plain & chocolate butter cream & then added different sprinkles ... they looked really good , i baked them for a fund raising day at work on Thursday, they went down a storm & was the first lot of cakes to sell out.

On Saturday i spent the day with my dad & brother in law watching the football (something im not interested, i spent the hour & half playing on my brother iPhone) I put a bet on the Grand National and won a grand total of £8.67 ... wooooo! Saturday night was a night out with my girlies, it was to celebrate my birthday on Tuesday, it was a fantastic night ... i'll upload some pictures tomorrow, i haven't really got a proper OOTN to show you's just part pictures but i'll post it anyway!!

So today i expected to wake up feeling all hungover but i was perfectly fine ... no head aches, no feeling sick! WOOOOO, me & the boy had a walk around our local town, then we got home, i was really good & wrote 4 scheduled posts, sorted out the washing & work clothes for next week and then remembered me and the boy have got Monday & Tuesday off work!! Yipeeeeeee!!

Its my birthday on Tuesday, its not a big birthday just my 23rd but im looking forward to it, and the thing im getting is a collective present, for presents off people I've asked for money (something i dont like doing as i feel really cheeky) as im going to get myself an Alexander Mcqueen Skull Scarf, im super excited for get it :)

My latest obsession (i forgot one) =

This is a continued post of my latest obsession as i totally forgot about my eagle ring, so instead of it feeling all left out i decided to make a post dedicated to it :)

So this little beauty was only £2 from Primark &; like any other primark ring does turn your finger green so you have to whip out the clear nail varnish before wearing it, to avoid the dreaded green band on your finger!!

The thing i really like about this ring is how big it is, its so chunky and stands out as its a quite bright/shiny gold, i know its not everyone's cup of T but i LOVE it!!

So i know an uber short post but i didnt want to miss out my Eagle ring lol!! I'll upload my Sugar & Spice Sunday post later on!!

My latest obsession =

Ive recently become quite obsessed with rings, at the moment the chunkier the better :) I haven't got any expensive rings, there all just costume jewelery from places like Topshop, Newlook, Primark, Dorthy Perkins ... I havent got ton's of rings yet but i thought i'd share with you my little collection :

(i know its a very little collection) but i am building it up, the first think i pick up when i go jewelry shopping is now rings & not bangles or necklaces like it used to be.

So this one was from originally from Primark but my friend gave it me, i LOVE it, it was my first costume piece of jewelry, i wear this alot for work as i usually wear black for work & this goes with anything! It does turn your finger green but a little clear nail polish on the inside does the trick!

Another Primark special ... it was only £2, again turns your finger green but the clear nail polish sorts that out, I love wearing this ring with peachy coloured tops / jumpers as i think its really girlie and has a vintage feel to it, the only thing im not over keen on is the the way its quite big over the actual design,  if that makes any sense at all?

I only purchased this at weekend so haven't actually got round to wearing it yet but i think its gorgeous, its so pretty & girlie, i got it from a little jewerly shop in the Arndale centre in Manchester for £2, they sell Dorothy perkins jewerly and should of originally been £7.50 so it was a bargain! I really like the pale lilac colour of the stone in the middle and the way they soft gold colour works on the little lilac flowers.

This little beauty is my only piece of jewelry from George at Asda ... it was only a few pounds and like the two Primark rings defiantly turns your finger a nasty shade of green. Its very similar to the black Primark ring but i really like the dark red against the brass/black metal!

I bought this one from the same shop as the lilac flowery one for £2, its a Dorothy Perkins rings as is currently being sold in DP's for £7.50, i LOVE the brass finish of this ring and also love the way it can be worn with the leaf curling down the finger or up the hand, both look very pretty!!

And finally onto my new favourite ...
I got this from the same shop as the leaf & lilac one, it was a £2 but is on sale currently in DP's for £9.50, i totally LOVE this ring, its chunky, edgy and something i wouldnt normally buy but as soon as i seen it i fell in love ... they also had it in a brass colour but it wasn't as nice as this little beauty, it reminds me of the Alexander Mcqueen skull rings but obviously no where near as pretty!

Whats your favourite ring ??
Any suggestions for some you've seen lately that i should add to my collection?
